1. SUGGESTIONS FOR A RELIABLE VIDEO CHAT TOOL TO COACH GROUPS:
Webex, Teamviewer, Citrix-Go To Meeting, and Free Conference Call.
2. E-COACHING SESSIONS AVAILABLE TO WATCH ON UTUBE:
These e-coaching sessions are conducted by Bob Griffiths, using the e-coaching software he has developed. They are available in order to receive feedback on:
a) The pace of the sessions, b)The balance between commenting on coaching in general and e-coaching in particular, c) How to improve them.
The insights into the e-coaching process and to the functionalities of the software have stimulated discussion on the following topics:
a. Cultural issues might be affecting clients´ preferences.
Do people coming from a high-context culture could generally ask for a more “human touch” in coaching? Would an e-coaching approach such as this feel too mechanical to them? Is this valid also for younger generations who are more used to technology?
b. Coaching and therapy boundaries.
How might coachees, dealing with personal and emotional issues, react to technology-mediated coaching? Does the distance make them feel safer or would they prefer face-to-face contact?
c. E-coaching: More than coaching with a different communication medium.
The format presented in the videos, provides the opportunity to build into the process knowledge about how to coach in different situations, e.g. how to coach clients with specific issues, or how to coach specific groups, such as sales people.
